We all have a different purpose in our lives and it is SO important for us not to get distracted by others and what they are doing. For if we become distracted, our eyes and mind become averted and we lose sight of our own God given desires and passions. We lose sight of who God is and who He created us to be because we are so focused on becoming what we are not and wanting what we don’t need.
It’s like driving up to a red stop light. It’s late in the night. You’re the only one there. The pressure plates in the road send a signal to the lights to let them know you’re there. You sit waiting for the light to turn green. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. No one else is around. Just you. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. You’re getting frustrated. Why is the light taking so long?! Suddenly, you see someone in your rear view mirror driving over the hill in the distance and is quickly approaching you. The light turns green and they zoom past you before you can even touch the gas peddle. As they do, you think to yourself, “Lucky duck. They didn’t have to wait for the light as long as I did!”
But what if you thought about it another way? The light wouldn’t have turned green if you hadn’t been there. Sometimes we are placed in a spot to help propel other people forward while we ourselves have a lesson to learn in that moment too. Sometimes it’s patience. Sometimes it’s learning to control ourselves. Remember, don’t compare yourself to others because you yourself are on a different path than others. Yep. It may seem like others may have it easier than you. It sucks. It’s hard. But God didn’t say our lives would become easier when we made the decision to follow Him. In fact… it gets harder! But don’t give up! Don’t lose hope! God rewards those who are obedient to The Call He has on us!
Keep pressing forward. Stay focused on His Word and what HE says about you! Tunnel vision. A servants heart wants to carry and pull people forward! Not leave them behind. Be the person you wish you had in your life. Be the encourager. Be the person of Faith. Be the one who loves and cares for those in need. Stay focused on God and He will direct your path.
