Our Story
New Song Church is a community of people with a passion to follow Jesus and fulfill His mission! Our heart is to be a home for people looking to discover who God is, discover who they are and, in turn, help make a difference in the lives of others. With powerful worship and relevant teachings, we have something for the entire family.
Our first official service was held on Sunday, April 11, 1993 (Easter Sunday) at Federation Hall on the University of Waterloo grounds.
If we were to describe New Song Church in a nutshell, it would be a place of Faith and Increase. Those are our lamp-stands!
We’ve sent dozens of people on dozens of missions trips to dozens of locations around the world.
We’ve been able to purchase two properties (first in 2004, read our testimony about how God finished that building, and the miraculous purchase of current location in 2011).
In 2018, God opened the door for us to have our Sunday service air on a Satellite TV network. In 2019, during our first Kingdom Insight TV Network conference over 1.2 million people from around the world tuned in LIVE. Almost 6,000 people around the world watch our Sunday messages!
When we’ve needed the funds to finish a major project, God has been there. Every time we have needed to repair something, God has been there. Every time we wanted to pour into another ministry, God has been there. He has taken care of our financial needs since day one, all the way back to our first service on April 11, 1993!
We are committed wholeheartedly to helping people take their next steps in their relationship with Jesus. Our goal is to be an Acts 2:42, apostolic/prophetic, five-fold ministry, love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul and love your neighbour as yourself (Mark 12:30-31), advancing the Kingdom as a Team, priesthood of all believers, kind of church.
On May 15, 2022 the transition to new leadership takes place. Pastor Dave and Shannon Mischuk (Founding Pastors) move into an Apostolic role and Pastor Dave becomes our Executive Pastor and Pastors Matt and Rachel Shuttlesworth take over as Senior Pastors.
